The Montana State University Library and the Open Access Button have collaborated to develop a tool that simplifies the repository deposit process for depositors so all they do is drag and drop the paper. Our repository, ScholarWorks, is at the heart of Montana's efforts to provide access to scholarship; however, we see few self-deposits. The bulk of our scholarship comes from mediated deposit which, while effective, taxes staff time. With shareyourpaper.org, we used insights gained from years of mediated deposit to develop a tool that provides authors with the speed and simplicity required to share their work. Shareyourpaper.org is a tool that automates the deposit workflow - metadata entry, permissions and version checking - to decrease the barriers to self-deposit. Attendees will learn the strategy behind the work, why the Montana State Library chose to partner on the project, how shareyourpaper.org works, the results of implementation, and how other libraries can easily implement the same process locally.
